Pressure Urticaria - Managing it Effectively

Most of the time pressure urticaria occurs after you have applied pressure to certain areas of your body. There are certain areas that are more prone to this type of hives.

If you find that you have a lot of pressure on your feet- as from standing for long periods of time, or your buttocks- as from sitting for long periods of time, then you may develop hives from this. This is one of the things that characterizes this type of urticaria.

Urticaria is just a fancy word for hives. Hives are usually rough and raised red spots on your body that usually itch pretty severely.

If you find that you suffer from pressure urticaria, then best thing to do is talk to your doctor about ways to prevent it. Of course, the best way to prevent it is by making sure that you do not have a lot of pressure on your skin.

This can be very difficult, as pressure from standing or sitting will always be there. For some people, even light pressure can cause this. Other people may require heavy pressure in order to break out in hives. No matter what type of pressure you need to break out, you will want to find ways to keep from breaking out. Hives are not anything that anyone wants to have to deal with.

Take the time to figure out the treatment options that will help you to manage the discomfort and itching that come along with the hives. This is one of the best ways to live with pressure urticaria.

It is generally not a very common form of hives.

More people get hives from allergies and other stimulants, but that does not mean that you cannot get it from pressure that is applied to the skin.
